BANGLADESH (2008-09): DIPTYCHS
DIPTYCHS
I traveled around Dhaka by auto rickshaw every day. During my nine months in Bangladesh I would wake up to the sound of morning prayers at 5:30 am and begin my journey across town to the old city. This ten- mile ride took 20 minutes in the early morning but would take between an hour and a half and two hours later in the day. The drivers raced through the empty streets, stopping for no one and nothing. I tried to anticpate the action and be ready for anything that would happen. The two juxtaposed frames in each diptych were taken seconds apart.
