CHINATOWN: SAN FRANCISCO
San Francisco's Chinatown is the largest Chinese enclave outside of Asia. With close to 45,000 people the population density is seven times the San Francisco average.
My connection to Chinatown goes back to the early seventies when I moved to the city. One of my first jobs was working in a Chinese photographers portrait studio. He used chopsticks in the darkroom instead of print tongs. I've always been drawn to the neigborhood because of it's energy and proximity to North Beach.
