EASTERN EUROPE WINTER (1992)
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, I wanted to see how the people of the former Eastern Bloc were doing under their new governments. Traveling through Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Poland in the winter of 1992, I had always wanted to visit the land of my ancestors. My pilgrimage to Lodz, Poland in the stark cold was melancholic. I chose to shoot the whole trip in black and white.
