VIETNAM WINTER (2016): HANOI- REINVENTED CITY

My photographic process goes like this: choose a neighborhood on the map and explore. In Hanoi it's inevitable that you get lost- even the locals do, but what a beautiful city to get lost in. Hanoi has dozens of lakes, which I used as points of reference. In the early morning middle-aged men and woman gathered under the trees to practice their dance moves. Down the street I heard the sound of laughter, turned out it was a group practicing their own way of finding nirvana, laughing meditation. The funny thing was, it worked. I have my own way of reaching enlightenment: start walking and begin to pay attention to your surroundings. Keep moving.
